A Winter Education (with some help from the trusty Dr. Scholl's)

Every year when the weather cools down, and the leaves start falling from the trees, I pack up my summer staples to shove in the back of my closet. It's time for hats, and pea coats! Those awesome boots I never get to wear, and cozy scarves! Maybe you know the feeling. You know, when your expectations are something like

but then when it actually gets REALLY cold outside, and you're more like

That second one was me this week. The Yeti and I spent the week on the other side of the country, where it actually SNOWS and your daily routine can be thrown off kilter because it isn't safe enough to take your car out.

Me, being the genius I am, went without a proper coat, or footwear. I know, I KNOW. But I live in California, I don't have those things! And I decided to tough it out for a week rather than buy new things that I wouldn't need as soon as I came home.

WRONG. First off, snow is no joke. I've been in snow plenty of times (when I was young, and with a coat), but it didn't click in my head that a week is a REALLY LONG TIME to be cold. The lovely people we were staying with loaned me a coat, which was a godsend.

But anyway, what I really wanted to talk about was footwear. Tootsies need to be warm, too. Another item of warmness I acquired while gone was a pair of boots. You know the kind. Ugg-type things, that do no favors for the shape of your legs, but they are SO COZY and you're damn right I'm gonna wear them all winter. But wait, there's more!

Always attractive.

Last month, Influenster sent me a new box of goodies, one of which being these Dr. Scholl's Cozy Cusions! (Yes, I'm writing about shoe insoles again. What can I say? I have sensitive feet. No, I don't write about everything Influenster sends me, only the things I love and feel like sharing!)

These won't work for all of your shoes, but they are AMAZING for boots. I'm thinking of getting another pair for my non-Ugg-type boots, too. They're so soft, and they still provide support for all day Winter Wonderland adventures (that is what you're doing, right?) All while keeping you warm and dry! It's like running around in slippers, but, you know....better. Yay!

So that was my week in cold weather education, and it's a good thing, because I came home to California and it was JUST AS COLD...minus the snow. This never happens here, but perfect timing, I guess?

I was given this Dr. Scholl's product complimentary from Influenster and Dr. Scholl's for writing and reviewing purposes. I did not receive money and the above link is NOT an affiliate link, so please, check it out!
